If an instructor does NOT offer or recommend teaching you how to read and play notes (sorry that doesn’t mean “tablature”) – you just as well learn on your own. By learning music theory (reading notes, keeping time, etc.) you’ll learn the guitar much faster and better understand how to learn new songs and build chords – with confidence. Music notation has been an International Language for hundreds of years, why not learn the right way the first time?
My standard curriculum also includes teaching students how to compose and score their own songs (e.g., verse/bridge/pre-chorus/chorus/CODA, OUTRO, etc.) regardless of age…I have a six year-old student currently writting his own song on his “Mini” Fender Squire!
Kinds of music taught: Rock, pop, folk, country, alternative rock, Christian, new age – you name it. All kinds of music for all ages.
Additional services available: Producing/recording your original songs (full production or demos).
